Habitat for Humanity

The parish is a member of the Carpenter's Cre Coalition which is made up of area churches who pool together funds and volunteers to build an affordable home for a family in the community. Volunteers, both skilled and unskilled, are most welcome to help. Financial support is received from the parish and the Knights of Columbus Council.

Omaha Together One Community (OTOC)

Provide an opportunity to work within a broad-based, multi-ethnic, and interfaith organization to recreate community. One of its main goals is to help those who have no voice in society to develop one.

Open Door Mission

Provides an opportunity for parish members to serve lunch on the third Saturday of each month from 11:30am - 1:30pm. During the holidays we deliver dinners to needy families. Support donations of cash, food and clothing.

Participate in the City of Omaha annual Paint-A-Thon in painting the exterior of a home for a low income familiy who could not financially or physically do the painting. This service opportunity takes place each year in mid-August.

Prison Ministry

The work of this ministry consists of providing one-on-one visitations to inmates who request such support.

Pro Life Ministry

Promote and participate in education and spiritual events to support people who are vulnerable to the effects of abortion, euthanasia and infanticide in our society. Coordinate efforts to support local pregnancy support groups. Represent our parish as a member of the Bishop's Pastoral Plan for Pro Life Activities.

Social Justice Ministry

The St. Charles Borromeo Social Justice Ministry (SJM) provides parishioners an opportunity to be the hands and heart of Jesus reaching out in mercy to fellow parishioners and the local community.

The mission of this ministry is twofold.

1. To aid its members in the spiritual growth and increasing love of our Lord.

2. To make our love for the Lord tangible in our parish family and local community.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul Conference

The parish conference of the Society works in the Spirit of St. Vincent de Paul to help people in need. Society members engage in person-to-person service in home visits to assess needs and provide resources related to food, rent, utilities, clothing and shelter. Members of the Conference gather monthly for prayer and planning. Two-person teams meet periodically to conduct needs assessments.

St. Vincent de Paul Food Collection

Monthly food collection of nonperishible items is collected on the fourth Sunday of each month. They are then delivered to the Pantry to be distributed to those in need.

Stephen Center

Stephen Ministry

Offer support and prayer to those experiencing difficulties in their life. These difficulties could include death in the family, serious illness or loss of functions, divorce, marital problems, loss of job or other financial issues, challenges with children.
